You bring the car in, we tell you what’s wrong and what it costs, and if you’d rather spread the cost out than pay it all at once, you can ask us about financing before the work starts. Can you finance car repairs?

Yes. At Chapa Autocraft you can apply for financing through Synchrony to cover repair work. Ask us when we go over your estimate and we’ll explain how it works.

Do I need to apply before I bring my car in?

You don’t have to — but you can, and it’s worth doing. Prequalifying online takes a couple of minutes and doesn’t affect your credit score, so you can walk in already knowing what you have to work with. See if you prequalify.

If you’d rather not, that’s fine too. Bring the car in, get a real number from us first, and decide about financing once you know what the job actually costs.

Does checking affect my credit score?

No. Prequalifying gives you a decision in seconds with no impact to your credit score — that’s Synchrony’s process, not ours. Submitting a full application is a separate step, and it’s yours to choose.

What kinds of repairs can I finance?

Repair work — collision and body repair, mechanical work, and the services we perform here at the shop. If you’re not sure whether a specific job qualifies, ask us with your estimate in hand and we’ll tell you straight.

Who decides if I’m approved, and what are the terms?

Synchrony does. They handle the application and they set the terms, not us. We can hand you the information and walk you through the process at the counter, but the approval decision and the specifics come from Synchrony.

Should I put off a repair I can’t pay for right now?

Usually not, and especially not brakes, tires, steering, or anything you can feel changing while you drive. Small problems tend to become expensive ones, and in the meantime you’re driving on something you don’t trust. If cost is the reason you’re hesitating, tell us — that’s exactly the situation financing exists for.

Do you work with insurance too?

Yes. For collision work we deal directly with all major insurance carriers on your behalf. And in Texas the choice of shop is yours, no matter which shop your insurance company suggests.
